Lushan and Wenchuan Earthquakes and their aftershocks. Figure below shows the focal mechanism of the Ms7.0 Lushan and Ms8.0 Wenchuan earthquakes as well as thir aftershoks. The Lushan earthquake and its aftershock appear to fill one segment of the gap left by the Wenchuan earthquake and its aftershock. Concerns may be quite reasonable if the aftershoks do not cover the gap left between those two earthquakes.
