One group in Chengdu University of Technology had accidentally recorded infrasound waves believed to be emitted from the Lushan earthquake. Prof. Qiang Xu 's group designed the infrasound recorders to monitor landslides in the western Sichuan province. To their big surprise, the very first signal they received is the infrasound waves from the Lushan earthquake. The signals can be clearly identified for the Lushan mainshock and many aftershocks with magnitude > 4.0. Full report in Chinese can be found  here. Similar waves had also been reported from Wenchuan earthquake: Click for related paper.
